State of Play

In Washington D.C., a man with a metal briefcase kills a fleeing thief and leaves a witness in a coma. A congressional aide is then killed by a train, sparking an investigation led by Cal McAffrey, a senior reporter at the Washington Globe newspaper who has a personal connection to the case. As Cal digs deeper, he uncovers a web of corruption involving politicians, defense contractors, and a sinister plot that threatens to destroy lives.
