Waxworks

In this eerie anthology film, a poet is hired to write tales about infamous figures at a wax museum in a circus, setting the stage for fantastical stories and forbidden love. As he writes, he and the proprietor's daughter Eva become lost in their fantasies, weaving together tales of the Caliph of Baghdad, Ivan the Terrible, and Jack the Ripper. The film's expressionist style and angular sets evoke the dark, disjointed world of German Expressionism, drawing audiences into a realm where reality blurs with fantasy.
