Biography
Hans Walter Conrad Veidt was a German actor renowned for his roles in classic silent films such as "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and "The Man Who Laughs", which inspired the Batman villain the Joker. After fleeing Nazi Germany in 1933, he continued his career in British and American cinema, starring in notable films like "The Thief of Bagdad" and "Casablanca". He appeared in over 100 films from 1916 until his death in 1943.
