Ice Station Zebra

A top-secret Soviet spy satellite using stolen Western technology malfunctions and crashes near an isolated Arctic research encampment called Ice Station Zebra, belonging to the British. The atomic submarine Tigerfish, commanded by Cdr. James Ferraday, is dispatched to save the personnel. A United States Marine Corps platoon joins the crew, along with Boris Vaslov, a Russian defector and spy who Jones trusts, but whose true loyalties are questioned after sabotage of the submarine's torpedo tube. The Tigerfish must navigate treacherous ice conditions and Soviet agents to rescue the scientists and retrieve an experimental camera that could compromise American missile silos.
