Brighton Beach Memoirs

Brighton Beach Memoirs is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age comedy set in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn during The Great Depression, where Eugene Jerome, a Polish-Jewish American teenager, navigates puberty, sexual awakening, and identity issues amidst his large and dysfunctional family. The film focuses on Eugene's struggles with his relationships with his parents, brother Stanley, and aunt Blanche, as well as his own aspirations to become a writer.
