Merrily We Go to Hell

In this 1932 romantic comedy-drama, Sylvia Sidney plays Joan Prentice, a free-spirited heiress who marries Jerry Corbett (Fredric March), a struggling reporter and self-proclaimed playwright, despite his struggles with alcoholism. As their marriage takes an unconventional turn, Joan's love and devotion are put to the test when she begins an affair with another man, while Jerry tries to overcome his demons.
