The Bamboo Saucer

Test pilot Fred Norwood (John Ericson) is flying the experimental X-109 when he finds himself pursued by a flying saucer and has to engage in a series of tricky aerobatics to protect himself. Once on the ground, Norwood discovers that his superiors believe he had hallucinations and order him off the project. He decides to prove what he saw by patrolling the area in a surplus North American P-51 Mustang equipped with futuristic laser radar until he reaches exhaustion. When his best friend Joe Vetry (William Mims) takes off in the Mustang, Fred and his sister Dorothy see Joe's aircraft vanish off the radar screen. After being summoned to Washington D.C., Norwood meets Hank Peters (Dan Duryea), who believes his account and asks him to accompany Peters and two scientists on a mission to Red China, where they find the flying saucer hidden inside the ruins of a Catholic church. They soon discover it with a party of Russian scientists led by Comrade Zagorsky, and after evading the Chinese Army, they board the saucer with Anna Karachev (Lois Nettleton) and fly out of Chinese airspace on a collision course with Saturn, working together to regain control of the vessel.
