The Rainbow Jacket

A champion jockey, having forfeited his own career by taking a bribe, takes a young rider under his wing. He is befriended by Georgie, a cheeky young boy who shows a penchant for horse riding and is placed in the stables of Lord Logan at Newmarket. With Sam's guidance, Georgie shows promise but faces setbacks, including a stewards' inquiry that wrongly disqualifies him from winning his first race. Ultimately, Sam's unorthodox tactics pay off, as he whips Georgie's horse to win their final classic, the St Leger, securing his friend's place in racing history and leading to his own downfall.
