Pirates of Monterey

In 1840, California is ruled by the Mexican government, and Marguerita Novarro, a wealthy aristocrat, meets Phillip Kent, an American adventurer, while being rescued from her carriage that broke loose. As they continue north together, their love blossoms amidst danger, with encounters with Royalists and Lt. Carlos Ortega, who is engaged to marry Marguerita, further complicating their relationship. Ultimately, Kent and Marguerita's love prevails, with Kent killing Major De Roja in a battle and Mexico's soldiers routing the royalists, earning the blessing of Ortega.
