Legend of the Mountain

In 1979, King Hu directed "Legend of the Mountain," starring Shih Chun as Scholar Ho Yunqing, a young scholar tasked with translating Buddhist sutras said to hold power over the afterlife. He travels to a monastery, encountering a cast of characters including Hsu Feng's Melody, Sylvia Chang's Cloud, and Rainbow Hsu's Ms. Chang, who arranges a marriage between Melody and Ho. As he works on the translations, Ho becomes entangled in a mysterious plot involving witchcraft, demons, and a battle to preserve his soul from supernatural attacks.
