New Battles Without Honor and Humanity

In 1974, Kinji Fukasaku directed a thought-provoking yakuza drama, New Battles Without Honor and Humanity, which begins a new series of films based on his earlier Battles Without Honor and Humanity pentalogy. The film follows Bunta Sugawara's character, Makio Miyoshi, a low-level assassin who is released from prison nine years after a botched hit and finds himself caught between two rival factions in the Yamamori gang.
