The Accused

Loretta Young stars as Dr. Wilma Tuttle, a college professor who is prompted into self-defense when one of her students attacks her sexually, leading to his death under her hands. As the investigation unfolds, Warren Ford (Robert Cummings), a San Francisco attorney, becomes involved in her life, and together they navigate the complex web of guilt, fear, and deception surrounding the crime. The Accused is a tense drama about a woman who must confront the consequences of her actions, directed by William Dieterle and adapted from June Truesdell's novel "Be Still, My Love".
