The Blockhouse

In 1944, a group of slave workers drafted by the Nazis to build coastal defenses in Normandy become trapped in an underground bunker when Allied forces land on D-Day. The bunker, a storehouse, provides them with enough food and wine to last years, but their confinement becomes a slow descent into boredom, illness, and jealousy as they wait for rescue that never comes. Based on the novel "Le Blockhaus" by Jean Paul Clebert, this 1973 survival drama film stars Peter Sellers in a rare dramatic role, exploring the psychological effects of prolonged confinement on its characters as they face death, isolation, and the cruel whims of fate.
