Against the Ice

In 1909, Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen and inexperienced engineer Iver P. Iversen embark on a treacherous journey to Shannon Island in East Greenland after being left behind by their Danish expedition. As they fight to survive against the harsh arctic environment, including polar bears, they discover records that disprove the existence of the Peary Channel, revealing that Greenland is a single island. After three months, they finally return to civilization but are met with the devastating news that their crewmates have returned home, leaving them stranded for two winters in a cabin with limited supplies.
