Wee Geordie

In a small Highland school classroom, a young Scottish boy named Geordie MacTaggart applies for a mail-order body building course and embarks on a fitness programme that helps him gain height and strength. As he trains, his best friend Jean supports him, while his father's sudden illness prompts Geordie to take up hammer throwing, with the help of local minister who teaches him the sport. At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Geordie wins the competition with a world record throw, but struggles with personal relationships and expectations back home.
