In May 1978, the mining town of Kolwezi in Katanga, Zaire was thrown into chaos as communist guerrillas from Angola stormed in, taking hundreds of civilians hostage and unleashing a bloodbath that would claim dozens of lives. Against this backdrop of violence and uncertainty, a team of brave and determined individuals - including a former Foreign Legion officer, an African doctor, and an American woman with Belgian connections - joined forces to stage a daring counter-attack, marking one of the most epic battles of the Cold War era.
