The Night of the Generals

In late 1942, Heer Major Grau (Omar Sharif) investigates the gruesome murder of a German agent who was also a prostitute in Warsaw, leading him to suspect three high-ranking Nazi generals: General von Seidlitz-Gabler, Major General Kahlenberge, and Heer General Tanz. The investigation is later rekindled 19 months later in Paris, where Grau discovers that all three generals are in attendance at the same time, but it's too late to prevent a plot by Wehrmacht officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler. When Grafu finally uncovers evidence linking Tanz to the murder, he pays with his life, and years later, Inspector Morand (unspecified actor) reopens the cold case, ultimately revealing Tanz as the serial killer.
