"This Land Is Mine" is a 1943 war drama film directed by Jean Renoir and starring Charles Laughton as Albert Lory, a cowardly school teacher torn between collaboration and resistance in German-occupied Europe. As Albert navigates his complicated past and present, he finds himself at the center of a tense standoff with the Nazi commandant Major von Keller, played by Walter Slezak. Ultimately, Albert's bravery and eloquence lead to his acquittal, but not before he is forced to confront the harsh realities of war and the true cost of resistance.
