In "The Moon Has Risen," directed by Kinuyo Tanaka, Mokichi Asai (Chishū Ryū), a widowed father, tries to set up his youngest daughter Setsuko (Mie Kitahara) as matchmaker for her older sisters Chizuru (Hisako Yamane) and Ayako (Yōko Sugi). Setsuko's efforts lead to humorous and awkward romantic entanglements.
