"Macho Callahan" is a 1970 Western drama film directed by Bernard L. Kowalski, starring David Janssen as Diego "Macho" Callahan, a Union soldier who rebels against being imprisoned in a Confederate POW camp. After escaping and reuniting with his old partner Juan (Pedro Armendáriz Jr.), Callahan seeks revenge against the man responsible for his imprisonment. However, he accidentally kills a Confederate officer, leading to a pursuit by bounty hunters, including Duffy (Lee J. Cobb), who is hired by the dead officer's widow, Alexandra Mountford (Jean Seberg). As Callahan tries to evade capture, he forms an unlikely bond with Alexandra, who eventually falls in love with him despite his violent past.
