Jean Dorothy Seberg was a French-American actress who became an icon of the French New Wave with her breakout role in Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless. She appeared in over three decades of films, including Saint Joan and Bonjour Tristesse, before becoming one of the FBI's most targeted targets due to her support of the Black Panther Party. Seberg died at 40 in Paris under disputed circumstances, with many attributing her demise to the trauma caused by an FBI-led smear campaign.
