The Mouse That Roared

In this witty satire, Peter Sellers stars as the eccentric Prime Minister Count Rupert Mountjoy, who concocts a devious plan for his impoverished Duchy of Grand Fenwick to escape its economic woes by declaring war on the United States and surrendering, thereby securing American aid. Armed with little more than bows and arrows, the tiny European nation invades New York Harbor during an air-raid drill, only to find themselves mistaken for Martians. As they navigate this absurd situation, Sellers' Mountjoy, Duchess Gloriana, and Tully Bascombe (the military leader) must outwit blustering American officials while also dealing with personal entanglements, including a romance between the game warden and the inventor's daughter.
