The Transformers: The Movie

In 2005, the evil Decepticons have conquered the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron. The heroic Autobots, operating from Cybertron's two moons, prepare a counteroffensive. Optimus Prime sends a shuttle to Autobot City on Earth for supplies. Meanwhile, Hot Rod and Daniel Witwicky encounter the Decepticons, leading to an epic battle with Megatron. Unicron, a sentient planet-sized transformer who consumes other worlds, discovers the wounded Decepticons and offers Megatron a new body in exchange for destroying the Matrix of Leadership. The Autobots are hunted by Unicron as they try to find Ultra Magnus, who possesses the power of the Matrix. Hot Rod is transformed into Rodimus Prime when he activates the Matrix, becoming the new leader of the Autobots. He then uses the Matrix's power to destroy Unicron and save his fellow Autobots.
