The 1964 Japanese film "Revenge" (Adauchi) tells the story of a low-ranking samurai named Shinpachi Ezaki (Kinnosuke Nakamura), whose pride is wounded by an innocuous comment during a weapon inspection, leading to a deadly duel and a descent into true insanity. As the situation spirals out of control, Shinpachi's actions become increasingly erratic, culminating in a tragic confrontation that threatens the entire clan. Directed by Kinji Fukasaku, the film explores themes of honor, loyalty, and the code of the samurai in feudal Japan.
