The More the Merrier

It's World War II and there is a severe housing shortage everywhere in Washington, D.C. Connie Milligan rents an apartment and offers to sublet half of it to a female tenant, expecting a suitable occupant. Instead, she gets mischievous middle-aged Benjamin Dingle, who talks her into renting the other half to young, irreverent Joe Carter. As a result, a comedic situation unfolds, and Connie soon develops a mutual attraction with Joe, while being engaged to bureaucrat Charles J. Pendergast.
