Midnight Special

A father and son go on the run after the dad learns his child possesses special powers. Michael Shannon plays Roy Tomlin, a protective father who escapes with Alton Meyer (Jaeden Martell), an 8-year-old boy with extraordinary abilities, from both the government and a cult that's also searching for him. Along the way, they seek refuge at various locations, including a motel and a gas station, where Alton reveals more about his powers. As they near their destination, Roy and his friends must evade the authorities and confront the mysterious forces surrounding Alton's abilities.
