A Geisha

In post-war Japan, a young girl named Eiko is forced to flee her family's distressing situation and seeks refuge as an apprentice to veteran geisha Miyoharu in Kyoto's Gion district. As Eiko navigates the demanding world of traditional Japanese culture, she faces the harsh realities of a profession shrouded in debt, obligation, and exploitation. Despite facing numerous challenges, Miyoharu and Eiko form a bond rooted in mutual support and dignity, as they resist the pressures of their surroundings to preserve their integrity.
