Easy Street

In the 1917 comedy film "Easy Street," Charlie Chaplin plays The Derelict, a down-and-out derelict who is inspired by a mission worker and her beautiful organ playing to reform his life. He becomes a policeman on Easy Street, a turf controlled by a vicious bully and his criminal gang. After a series of slapstick misadventures, the Tramp saves the day, restoring peace and order to the street with the help of the mission worker, and even brings about the construction of a new church on Easy Street.
