The Pope Must Diet

In this irreverent comedy, Robbie Coltrane stars as Father Rookie, a hard-of-hearing priest who is mistakenly elected Pope and must navigate Vatican corruption, the Mob, and his old flame Beverly D'Angelo's daughter, who has a rock star son. After a series of mishaps, the Pope uncovers the Vatican Bank's ties to organized crime and forces it to dissolve. As he struggles to stay in office, the Mafia tries to assassinate him, leading to a wild finale where he thwarts the plans of his would-be killer and finds love with Veronica Dante once again.
