Abbot of Shaolin

The film "Abbot of Shaolin" (1979) is a martial arts epic directed by Ho Meng Hua, starring David Chiang as Monk Chi San and Lo Lieh as Pai Mei, a Shaolin renegade. The story follows Chi San's journey as he learns kung fu from a Wu-Tang priest, befriends his niece Wu Mei (Lily Li), and must confront the treacherous Pai Mei, who seeks to destroy him and rebuild the Shaolin Temple. Along the way, Chi San faces various integrity "tests" from local businessmen and defeats a northern Lama in battle. In the end, he ultimately outwits Pai Mei and saves his niece.
