David Chiang Da-Wei is a Hong Kong actor, director, and producer born on June 29, 1947, in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. He rose to fame in the 1970s as a martial arts superstar signed by Shaw Brothers Studio, starring in over 130 films and 30 television series. Chiang's early career began at age four, marked by his discovery as a child actor by director Chang Cheh, who became his mentor.
