Dorothy Mackaill stars as Dorothea 'Dot' Parker Brunton, a wealthy socialite who falls for a former All-American football star turned steel mill supervisor, Richard "Dick" Brunton (Joel McCrea), when she makes a bet with her father that she can win his heart within four weeks. The film explores the class struggles and stereotypes between the working class and the wealthy during the Depression era, as well as traditional gender roles.
