Still Life

In the 2006 Chinese film Still Life, Han Sanming (Han Sanming) returns to the dying county of Fengjie in search of his bought wife and daughter, who he hasn't seen in 16 years. Meanwhile, nurse Shen Hong (Zhao Tao) has come to Fengjie searching for her husband Guo Bin, a successful businessman who barely kept in touch with her after leaving their home two years earlier. As they navigate the rapidly changing landscape of Fengjie, which is being demolished and flooded to make way for the Three Gorges Dam, both characters grapple with loss, regret, and the complexities of human relationships.
