Far into the Night

The film "Far into the Night" is a 1943 British drama that pays tribute to the dedication of Londoners who kept the fires of London under control during the Blitz and fire bombings of WWII. Tommy Trinder plays Tommy Turk, a light-hearted gambler who joins the Auxiliary Fire Service alongside his friend Bob Matthews, played by Philip Friend. The two men, along with Sam, a small-time thief, are assigned to the "Q" sub-station in East London's District 21, where they respond to their first call at Christmas and eventually find themselves fighting a massive fire during the Battle of Britain.
