"Road to Rio" is a 1947 American musical comedy film starring Bing Crosby as Scat Sweeney and Bob Hope as Hot Lips Barton, two out-of-work musicians who stow away onboard a ship bound for Brazil. They become entangled in a plot by Lucia Maria de Andrade (Dorothy Lamour), a nightclub singer being coerced into a marriage of convenience, which they must stop and help catch the crooks. The duo's antics lead to a series of hilarious misadventures as they try to foil the villainous plans of Lucia's guardian, Catherine Vail, with the help of some local musicians and a cavalry charge led by Jerry Colonna.
