W.C. Fields stars as Elmer Finch, a timid man who undergoes hypnosis to become fearless and assertive, transforming his life and relationships in the process. After finding a horseshoe and being hypnotized during a vaudeville act, he gains confidence and stands up to those who have oppressed him, including his wife, stepchildren, and employer.
