In 1518, Spain, young caballero Pedro De Vargas joins Hernán Cortés' first expedition to Mexico after fleeing persecution at the hands of the Spanish Inquisition. Alongside friends Juan García and adoring servant girl Catana, Pedro becomes embroiled in continuous adventures and a romantic interlude, almost forgetting his deadly enemy - Diego de Silva, who seeks revenge for past betrayals.
