Lady of Burlesque

Lady of Burlesque is a 1943 American musical comedy mystery film directed by William A. Wellman, starring Barbara Stanwyck as Dixie Daisy, a performer at a New York City burlesque theatre. After one member of their group is murdered, the performers must work together to find out who the killer is before they strike again, with Biff Brannigan (Michael O'Shea) trying to win Dixie's affections amidst the chaos. The film features a mix of onstage performances and backstage action, as well as a romantic plot twist at its conclusion.
