In the irreverent and darkly comedic "Dogma," two fallen angels, Bartleby and Loki, hatch a plan to exploit a loophole in Catholic dogma to re-enter Heaven, threatening the very existence of humanity. As they set their sinister scheme in motion, an unlikely hero emerges: Bethany Sloane, a despondent abortion clinic counselor who is revealed to be the last scion of Jesus Christ. With the help of two prophets, Jay and Silent Bob, she must stop the angels and save the universe from destruction. Along the way, the film's irreverent treatment of Catholicism and organized religion sparks controversy, but ultimately delivers a wildly entertaining and thought-provoking ride.
