Joseph Campanella

Biography

Joseph Campanella was an American character actor born on November 21, 1924, to Sicilian immigrant parents. He began his acting career on the New York stage and in TV soap operas, with notable roles including Joe Turino on Guiding Light, Alec Fielding on The Doctors, and Senator Harper Devereaux on Days of Our Lives. Campanella also narrated National Geographic specials and hosted the 1983 revival of This is Your Life, before landing his first major starring role in the 1972 film Ben.
