Jeanne Bates was a pioneering American actress born in Berkeley, California in 1918. Her career spanned radio and film, with notable roles in horror classics like "The Return of the Vampire" (1943) and noirs such as "Shadows in the Night" (1946). In later years, she collaborated with acclaimed director David Lynch on two films: "Eraserhead" (1977) and "Mulholland Drive" (2001), her final acting credit. Bates passed away in 2007.
