Elke Sommer is a German actress and artist born on November 5, 1940, in Berlin, Nazi Germany. She began her career in Italy in 1958 and later moved to Hollywood, becoming a noted sex symbol and popular pin-up girl. Sommers won a Golden Globe award for Most Promising Newcomer Actress in 1964 and went on to star in numerous films throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including A Shot in the Dark and Carry On Behind.
