Biography

Leslie Banks was a renowned English theatre and cinema actor, director, and producer born on June 9, 1890, in West Derby, Liverpool. He gained recognition for his portrayal of menacing characters in black-and-white films of the 1930s and 1940s, including roles in "Madeleine" and "The Small Back Room." Before his screen career, Banks served with the Essex Regiment during World War I and later appeared on the West End stage, earning a CBE.
