Corey Allen was a renowned American film and television director, writer, producer, and actor, born Alan Cohen on June 29, 1934. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UCLA in Theatre in 1954 and earned critical acclaim for his roles, including Buzz Gunderson in Nicholas Ray's Rebel Without a Cause (1955). Allen went on to direct numerous films and television series, earning several awards, including an Emmy for Best Direction of a Hill Street Blues (1981).
