George E. Stone was a Polish-born American character actor born Gerschon Lichtenstein on May 18, 1903. He transitioned to talking pictures in Warner Bros.' Tenderloin and became typecast in streetwise roles, often playing mobsters or gangland bosses' assistants. Notable highlights include his appearances as Toothpick Charlie in "Some Like It Hot" (1959) and Sam Markette in "The Man with the Golden Arm" (1955).
