In this zany screwball comedy, investigative reporter Hildebrand "Hildy" Johnson is given one last chance to prove himself when an escaped convicted murderer walks into his office, courtesy of his editor Walter Burns. With the help of Burns and a trail of clever schemes, Hildy must uncover the truth behind the prisoner's wrongful conviction and outsmart the corrupt sheriff and politicians who are hot on his heels. As the story unfolds, Hildy finds himself in a hilarious game of cat-and-mouse with the law, all while trying to keep his own future plans - including his honeymoon trip to New York City - intact.
