Biography

Raffaele "Raf" Vallone was an Italian actor and footballer born in Tropea, Calabria, on February 17, 1916. He rose to international fame through his association with the neorealist movement, starring in films such as Bitter Rice and The Scarlet and the Black. Vallone also had a notable stage career, particularly in Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge, for which he won the David di Donatello award.
