Biography

Kyōko Kagawa, born on December 5, 1931, is a renowned Japanese actress who has appeared in leading and supporting roles in films by notable directors such as Akira Kurosawa, Kenji Mizoguchi, and Yasujirō Ozu. She won the "New Face Nomination" sponsored by Tokyo Shimbun newspaper and joined Shintoho at age 18, choosing to pursue acting over a corporate career. After a three-year hiatus, she resumed her acting career in the late 1960s, later expanding into television dramas and stage productions.
