Gavin Muir was an American actor whose career spanned film, television, and theatre, from his early roles in Chicago's stage productions to his appearances in notable films such as "Night Tide" (1961) and the classic comedy "Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet the Invisible Man" (1951). Born in 1900 with a mixed American and Scottish heritage, Muir educated in England before establishing himself on Broadway through 1933. His film career continued until 1965, with notable roles often featuring British accents.
