Tanie Kitabayashi was a renowned Japanese actress and voice actress born Reiko Ando in Tokyo on May 21, 1911. A founding member of the Mingei Theatre Company, she became celebrated for her portrayal of older women early in her career. Notable highlights include wins at the Blue Ribbon Awards and Mainichi Film Awards for Kiku to Isamu (1960) and Japan Academy Prize for Rainbow Kids (1991). She passed away on April 27, 2010, at 98.
